Frequently Asked Questions

In the FAQ you will find several questions that we get often. If you have other questions or concerns please contact us and we will be more then happy to answer them.

I SAW THIS PUP ONLINE, IS IT STILL AVAILABLE?

Any dogs that were adopted at a Sat. event will be taken off the website within 48 hours. Our website is kept current.

WHEN WILL YOU HAVE NEW PUPS? DOGS?

All new adoptable pups will be listed as available on the website and search engines (Petfinder, Adoptapet ) by  Wed or Thursday evenings.

ARE THESE PUPS PUREBRED? CAN I GET ONE? WILL YOU CALL US WHEN THEY COME IN?

RMPR does occasionally get pure-breed dogs. Most of our dogs/pups are mutts or MIXED breeds. If you want a purebred rescue, please go to: allbreedrescuenetwork.com for a full listing by breed of all rescues in Colorado. RMPR does not have the ability to call each potential adopter please Check our website on Mondays and Wednesdays for all updates.

DO YOU HAVE HYPO ALLERGENIC DOGS?

SHORT ANSWER:

NO as they are mixed breeds, we will not guarantee that

DO YOU KNOW THE EXACT SIZE?

Again as rescues with little or no back ground. No size is based on breed characteristics we see.

DO YOU KNOW THE PARENTS? and MY ADOPTED DOGS BDAY?

Sometimes we do if that info is given to the shelter and or we have the mother transferred to us, but we rarely if ever know the sire of the litter. So again, these are rescued dogs

CAN I VISIT A DOG OUTSIDE OF YOUR EVENT TIMES?

Unfortunately NO.

All RMPR puppies are currently in foster care so the only times to see them are at our events. Each dog is fostered, and our foster families all have lives and full-time jobs. If you have specific questions about our dogs, we ask that you please come to our event to speak with the pups foster, they will answer any and all specific questions. Please visit our events page to see the next day and time of our event. rmpuppyrescue.org

CAN I ADOPT THIS DOG ON A DIFFERENT DAY OR CAN YOU HOLD A DOG FOR ME?

We do not adopt in between events. PLEASE DO NOT ASK IF WE WILL.

We do not offer guarantees a dog will attend an event. We do not “ hold” dogs. SOME adult dogs will require a home visit prior to adoption.

DO I HAVE TO PAY AN ADOPTION FEE?

RMPR is a nonprofit organization and runs on its adoption fees. We do not rehome dogs for free or adopt for free, as then we cannot care for or go and get the animals to bring them here. We have many wonderful programs that benefit from the adoption fees and donations from individuals to view all that this group does for homeless animals, please visit our Colorado Gives Profile at: https://www.coloradogives.org/RockyMountainPuppyRescue/overview

WHAT YOUR ADOPTION FEE INCLUDES:

RMPR dogs are up to date on all shots and come microchipped.

ALL are altered prior to adoption and adults over 6 months have heartworm testing done, and rabies vaccinations.

PLEASE CLICK ON THE PHOTO OF THE DOG OR PUPPY To see the adoption fee.

ADOPTION FEES:  Please visit rmpuppyrescue.org and click on the pup you are interested in, it will show the adoption fee.

RETURNS and REFUNDS:

RMPR will take an RMPR adopted dog back with prior arrangement. We may ask that you HOLD your puppy or dog until such time that we have a foster available this can take up to one week or more..  All returns must be arranged prior and happen on Saturday. The fee is non-refundable.  To return you must. 1) call us to arrange a return and all returns happen on SATURDAYS. 2)  have taken your adopted dog to the vet as per your contract.  If you have a dog to return we ask that you please EMAIL AND PHONE us.

LOOKING TO REHOME A DOG?

RMPR does not accept relinquished animals from the public. We do not re-home dogs from the public, we pull our rescues from overcrowded kill shelters in CO, NM, KS, and WY.

CAN MY CURRENT ADULT DOG COME TO MEET OUR POTENTIAL NEW PUP?

No. Potential adopters adult dogs are not allowed to meet our puppies because our pups although up to date on their vaccines for their age are not fully vaccinated.
