HOW WE CREATE IMPACT

More Than 16,000 Animals Rescued Since 2010

We believe every dog and cat deserves a second chance — from rescue to forever home. We've moved thousands of animals from risk to safety — and we're not slowing down.

Donations create change

Your support helps RMPR prevent animal overpopulation, provide lifesaving care, and move animals from overcrowded shelters into safe foster homes and adoptive families.

PREVENTING OVERPOPULATION

Spay It Forward

RMPR’s Spay It Forward program helped prevent suffering before it started by bringing low-cost spay/neuter services, vaccinations, and microchips to underserved communities. The program ran from 2012 to 2025 and more than 1,000 animals have been spayed or neutered through clinics and vouchers.

PROVIDING LIFESAVING CARE

Rescue Care & Support

Donations help cover the care animals need before adoption—from food and supplies to medication, veterinary treatment, and special-needs surgeries. Adoption fees cover only part of these costs, making donor support essential to RMPR’s rescue work.

CREATING SAFE LANDINGS

Foster-Based Rescue

RMPR moves dogs from high-risk shelters into foster homes until they find permanent families. Every available foster creates space for another animal to leave a shelter and get a second chance. Just 3% of RMPR adoptions are returned—below the 7–20% range reported in published studies. Foster care also gives dogs time to decompress in a home, where their routines, behavior, and needs become easier to understand. Research has found that even short foster stays can reduce stress and increase restful behavior, while better insight into an animal’s behavior can support stronger adoption matches.

Blankets, Toys & Lots of Love!

On September 26, 2026, volunteers came together to make cozy blankets and fun cat toys for the puppies, dogs, and cats in foster care! These handmade goodies bring comfort, enrichment, and a little extra love to animals while they wait for their forever homes.

Shake, Rattle, and Rescue: The Grateful Gnome Raises $1,500 for RMPR

At The Grateful Gnome Sandwich Shoppe & Brewery in NW Denver, guests shake five dice for a chance to win part of the pot, and the rest goes to charity. In the summer of 2026, that charity was us. In early August, the pot hit $1,500, and owner Dan invited us to pick up the check. We brought a couple of adoptable pups along to say thank you. Thank you, Dan and the Gnome crew, and everyone who took a shake! Visit The Grateful Gnome: 44th and Stuart, NW Denver.
