Below is a list of adopted puppies and dogs for the last two months.
We want to wish them happy tails with their new family
Success Story : Iggy
We adopted Iggy today, and are very excited to be bringing him into our family alongside a previous rescue, G from the Alphabet Litter! This experience, just like our first experience with this rescue was absolutely amazing. The staff are so incredibly caring and dedicated to their work, they remembered G and talked about how good she looked at an event we attended this summer with them! This rescue does so much amazing work and still loves and cherishes every paw-baby they get in, even though they rescue hundreds a year. This rescue is the only rescue we will be using for any future dogs we decide to take in and highly recommend them to anyone looking for a dog. They take such great care of these animals and pride in what they do. We couldn't have asked for two better dogs or a better organization to get them from. Looking forward to the next RMPR event we can attend to show the fosters Iggy and G as they grow up with us! Thank you so much.
Success Story : LilBro (O'Bryan)
Adopted him on April 2. He has taken to his new home and is now the Lord of the Manor. He is my shadow and companion. He loves the dog door. During bad weather he puts his head out the door with his butt inside. Everyone loves him. He now knows the sign for "toy", "sit" and "no". Will be working on other signs over the next few months. Vet gave him a clean bill of health and gave him all the other boosters and heartworm meds. LilBro dined with me, al fresco, in Old Town Fort Collins and everyone stopped to pet him and he was on best behavior. Thank you for rescuing him and allowing him into my life. Picture is of LilBro in my home office today, in his chair (lying on the water buffalo toy...with many other toys laying around the house).
Success Story : Kona (Nala)
We adopted our Kona (formerly called Nala) on December 19th and she is the most amazing addition to our family. During the interview and visit with the puppies, she climbed right into our laps and stole our hearts. She chose us and we couldn't be happier. Kona is playful, sweet, and loves belly rubs and rolling on the grass. She sleeps with her favorite toy, a giraffe wearing a santa hat, and cuddles up to it in the most adorable way. She is smart and has responded very well to training. We can't wait to have her grow up in our family.
She came spayed, microchipped, up-to-date with vaccinations, and included 45 days of pet insurance for a very reasonable adoption fee of $325. Most importantly, I loved that the adoption agency took the time to sit with all the adopters and discuss the dogs and their care, feeding, vaccinations, etc. They took all of our questions and even provided us with a bag of the food the dogs were currently eating so we could slowly transition them to our choice of food without upsetting their stomachs. To those looking to adopt, look no further!
Thank you Rocky Mountain Puppy Rescue!
Success Story : Monique
We love our new lil girl! We had gone to look at another puppy but after the interview and finding out we had children the staff wisely determined he would not be a good fit because he was"nippy". We were disappointed but were open to meeting other staff recommendations. As we were walking by Monique, I flippantly said "No more girls"...she looked right in my eyes, cocked her head and lifted one eyebrow as if to say "Really?" and that was when she stole my heart. We brought her home and she went trick-or-treating with the girls, already stepping up to protect them from the goblins by barking and wagging her tail. All of the kids in the neighborhood love her! She came home, did her bedtime business and snuggled down into her new bed. She woke up this morning and acted just like she had been here her whole life.
Success Story : MADISON AND MACKENZIE
We adopted two adult dogs Madison and Mackenzie from RMPR. We had specific dogs we wanted to look at from visiting the site, and after interviewing us and telling them what we wanted, we ended up with Madison, one of our original picks and Mackenzie, who they said would be a good match for our lifestyle.
I'm so glad we were able to talk to the fosters for the dogs and they knew a lot about the dogs. We love our two girls and they seem to be getting along just fine with each other and other dogs they meet.
Success Story : Solo (Nikita)
Solo (Nikita) was around 3 months old when she came to stay with us. She was our eighth foster puppy and she was a firecracker! Even as a little fluff ball she had a huge personality and played well with our 3 year old golden/aussie mix. After watching them play constantly for a few days, we decided to keep her. We gave her the name of Solo. Her name is partially from Han Solo, partially from Hope Solo, and partially from the rock climbing term.
The beginning was a little rough and we enrolled her at the Colorado Dog Academy. We spent many hours training her and training ourselves on how best to work with Solo. The training was successful and we all emerged with a much better understanding of each other.
Solo is now 3.5 and has really grown into herself. Her favorite things are playing catch with Frisbees and tennis balls. A close second is running through deep snow. During the winter, she can often be found outside, sitting in the snow with her face into the wind. Although she didn’t seem to be interested in human interaction at first, she is now a huge cuddle bug. She and our 2 year old daughter are best friends and spend lots of time together.
Success Story : Sampson
We got our handsome boy Ripley (now Sampson) from Rocky Mountain Puppy Rescue. His foster family was so perfect. They really took the time to talk to us and make sure we were a good fit for him. They were very professional and thorough. The vet told us that he was well cared for at our first visit too. He is happy, loving and adorable! Huge kudos to his fosters for taking great care of him, and to this company for saving all these puppies!
