We at RMPR strive to match the puppy / dog by energy level. Based on our experience we look to match the animal to the home environment. We encourage candidates to do their research and look at the breed mixes and traits. Look at what it takes to RAISE a puppy to be a balanced dog. It takes time, energy and money. Do you have the dedication? GREAT dogs are made. We believe it is 90% nurture and about 10% nature when it comes to rearing a great dog. one of our adoption events .
HOW TO APPLY TO ADOPT A PUPPY
OR DOG FROM RMPR:
1) Submit an application on our site and then please come to interview at our next adoption event with " proof of residency" either in the form of a mortgage statement, house tax document and or lease with clause stating you are allowed an animal: we must see the breed and weight restrictions. If a family member owns your house they must show up to the event and show a mortgage statement. All adopters must have a proper id, either state issued license or passport.
2) Our adoption events are held each SATURDAY and times and locations change so please check the EVENT PAGE on our site for location and times.
3) If you are having trouble submitting an application you may download one from the site and email it to us at rmpradoptions@gmail.com You also may fill out an application for adoption at our Saturday event.
4) When all things are equal between adopters applications we will use our sign in sheet at our event, so early arrival to our event helps but is NOT a guarantee of adoption approval. WE ARE NOT A COLORADO PUPPY RESCUE that hands out puppies with adoption fees. We interview and match the pups and dogs energy to the best home possible. RMPR has one of the most open return policies of any puppy rescue group in Colorado and for this reason we seek to adopt our animals out to the best homes possible.

By Submitting an application you are saving valuable time but it is not necessary to do so in order to adopt an animal from us, you may come to our event on Saturday and fill one out in person.
If you do submit it online we will review your application and if we find that you could be a great a match for our pups/ dogs we will email you to invite you to come to our event, and interview for one of our animals. If we feel that it is not a good fit, we will suggest where you might find a suitable companion animal as there are many
animals in need of homes!
Not all applications that we receive are matches for our animals. We understand this is hard for some people but we also invite you to understand we do this for the best interest of our rescued animals and our adopters.
By submitting an application you are agreeing with the following:
All decisions to reward adoption will happen PHYSICALLY at our ADOPTION EVENTS and are based on RMPR's directors and staffs' approval. You have read and agree with all of our policies found on our requirements form and will comply. Further you agree that we may check your references and require further information should it be requested. You agree to interview for the dog which you applied for at our event and will be open to " matching suggestions" While we understand that it is easy to " fall in love with a cute photo" we also know that once you meet the animals, discuss personalities and lifestyles, this may change. A little information about our adoption events:
- Each group we interview takes time. You can plan on being with us for 2 to 3 hours from start to finish so please plan accordingly.
MANY Folks ask if their adult dog can meet our puppies. The answer is NO, our puppies while up to date on all shots are young and still in need of vaccines. If you have questions as to whether your adult dog can handle having a puppy in its space we ask that you please email us to consult prior to the adoption event. If you wish to have your adult dog meet one of our adult dogs we are glad to have you bring your dog to the store and we will have a volunteer do a behavior walk and assessment with you!

I SAW THIS PUP ONLINE, IS IT STILL AVAILABLE?
Any dogs that were adopted at a Saturday event will be taken off the
website by Monday Night.
WHEN WILL YOU HAVE NEW PUPS? DOGS?
All new adoptable pups will be listed as available on the website and
search engines (Petfinder, Adoptapet ) by Thursday evenings.
ARE THESE PUPS PURE BRED? CAN I GET ONE? WILL YOU CALL US WHEN THEY COME IN?
RMPR does occasionally get pure bred puppies and dogs. Most of our dogs/pups are
mutts, or MIXED breeds. If you want a pure bred rescue, please go to:
allbreedrescue.org for a full listing by breed of all rescues in
Colorado. RMPR does not have the ability to call each potential
adopter please Check our website on Mondays and Wednesdays for all
updates.
CAN I VISIT A DOG OUTSIDE OF YOUR EVENT TIMES?
All of RMPR puppies are currently in foster care all over the front range, so the only times to
see them are at our events. Each dog is fostered, if you have specific
questions about our dogs, we ask that you please come to our event to
speak with the pups foster, they will answer any and all specific questions.
Our event times and locations change each week so please look at our website for all
information on store location.
PLEASE DO NOT CALL THE STORES they do not have specific information on our animals.
CAN I ADOPT THIS DOG ON A DIFFERENT DAY OR CAN YOU HOLD A DOG FOR ME?
We do not adopt in between events. We do not offer guarantees a dog
will attend an event. We do not “ hold” dogs. Many but not all adult dogs will
require a home visit prior to adopting.
DO I HAVE TO PAY AN ADOPTION FEE?
RMPR is a nonprofit organization and runs on its adoption fees.
We do not rehome dogs for free or adopt for free, as then we cannot care for or go and get the animals to bring them here. If you wish to return one of our animals that you have adopted we have information on this on our website.
WHAT YOUR ADOPTION FEE INCLUDES:
RMPR dogs are up to date on all shots, come with a mircrochip and one month of insurance.
ADOPTION FEES:

All puppies that are not fixed at the time of adoption also require a
refundable deposit ( with compliance ) of 100.00 in
addition to their adoption fee. Please visit our site at rmpupprescue.org and click on HOW TO ADOPT to see all requirements on RMPR’s spay-neuter policy.
RETURNS and REFUNDS:
RMPR will take an RMPR adopted dog back at anytime provided we have room in our system. In order to receive the adoption fee and the s/n deposit you must return the dog by the following
Saturday at 11 am.
There is a 50 non refundable fee. All returns must be arranged priorand happen on Saturday. If after 7 days RMPR will return the s/n deposit where applicable. All refunds are given in by check either at the time of return or mailed.
In order to receive a full refund you must. 1) call us to arrange a return. 2) have taken your adopted dog to the vet as per your contract 3) return the dog by the following Saturday. If you have a dog to return we ask that you please phone us.
LOOKING TO REHOME A DOG?
RMPR does not accept relinquished animals from the public. We do not rehome dogs from the public, we pull our rescues from over crowded kill shelters in CO, NM, KS and WY. If you are looking to rehome your dog, we suggest finding them a home by listing on Craigs list, going to allbreedrescue.org and seeking a
breed specific dog rescue.
REMEMBER: Any behavior issues that are disclosed or apparent when dropped at a shelter will ultimately result in that dog being deemed unadoptable. 70% of dogs dropped at a shelter will not make it out alive. Seeking a behaviorist BEFORE condemning them to a shelter is always the best. Many issues can be resolved by consulting a professional!
